Maya saw Owen sitting in a booth and walked out. She was too cold to take her jacket off, so she left it on. “Hi Owen.” She sat down and didn’t really know what to say. She didn’t mind hanging out with him, but she didn’t know what to say. Maya only knew a little of Owen from what Tristan told her and she knew he was on the hockey team with Cam. She didn’t want it to be awkward though. “How are you?” She grabbed a menu and set her phone in her lap just in case something happened. Maya already knew she was going to get a hot chocolate, but something to snack on sounded good. She didn’t want cheese fries, but maybe regular fries or curly fries sounded delicious.
“How is Tristan and hockey?” She looked up from the menu. She decided what she wanted. She looked around and noticed The Dot was kind of empty for a Sunday, but then again it was Sunday people were probably just starting their homework. Maya focused back on Owen and smiled a little. Maya got a little colder, so she hugged her jacket closer to her body. She hoped that she wouldn’t get nausea during this hangout. She was starting to feel good after the mornings, but sometimes if she ate the wrong thing she would get very sick. She noticed a waitress bring two waters and she reached for her water. She smiled again at Owen. She hoped he didn’t think she was weird or nervous. Maya was a bit nervous, but she tried to hide it.
Owen looked up as he saw the girl nearing his table. “Sup?” He asked without much hesitation. Pushing his menu to the side he’d already known what he had wanted. “I’m good, hungry for some cheese fries.” He told her with a laugh before shaking his head just a bit. “Tristan is…Tristan.” He laughed while trying to think of a more reasonable answer. “No, really though. He’s alright. He’s a pain, but I guess that’s what siblings are supposed to do. And hockey is great, but I’m sure that’s not really anything that you want to talk about.” Noting her smiling he smiled back at her before picking up his glass of water and taking a drink from it.
Looking up at the waitress he smiled at her before ordering himself a basket of cheese fries, then sitting back as he waited for her to order. After hearing Maya finish up her order he then picked up both menus and handed them back to the waitress waiting for her to leave. “How are you though? I mean, I don’t think that we’ve ever really actually talked much.” He told her with a slight chuckle.
